I agree....I think BG is funny as hell and people need to lighten up. He had a valid point once you sorted through the silliness.

Conforming to normal language conventions allows you to be easily understood by others. If being misunderstood is your goal, then by all means, continue supporting grammar nonconformism. Better yet, start posting in Sanskrit or Coptic or some other dead language.

Neil's not the only entity out there that talks in the 3rd person. It's not about grammar AT ALL. It's about all the other blokes who do so. 3rd person speech is a layer of separtaion between commoner and something more.

Neil's been doing this since forever & good luck on thinking you can get him to change.

Excellent anecdote! Its sad that as a society and as a group of hobbyists that to a certain extent we've come to assume the worst. Your story is a good reminder that sometimes innocent mistakes do happen, and we should give benefit of the doubt 1st before coming to the worst conclusions.
