I realize that you aren't into BP's for the money. I definitely understand the appeal of breeding bp's now and producing bumblebees next year. In my experience, when it comes to breeding snakes, whenever you try to rush anything you get negative results. If you really want to make breeding a career you have to take small steps. There really aren't many career breeders in the world and those that are spent a lot of time getting there.

PATIENCE is they key when it comes to this hobby. It's going to take a very long time and a handful of failures before you start making any kind of money back - and it's not guaranteed that you will!

Like others have said, start with buying a really nice pair. You'll spend good money housing and feeding them - and, if you're lucky, down the road you may make your money back selling offspring. Most likely when you first get into snakes you will lose a lot more money then you make. But, if you really love snakes, then you have to realize it's all about the journey. Seeing a beautiful baby snake that can fit in the palm of your hand grow and grow into an amazing adult and seeing that adult produce a whole new generation of babies - it's amazing!!! .......And if you do start making money.... feel lucky!
