In the spirit of Halloween (and because I'm addicted to horror stories) anyone know some really creepy scary stories? Real or fake.

Here's a (fake) short one that would be great for campfire/story night.

Usually, in asia, they don't put in the 4th floor (like the 13th floor in western cultures) on big buildings because "4" sounds similar to the word "death."

There's this little boy lives on the 5th floor of an apartment, and every day when he comes home and rides the elevator, he gets a really chilly, creeped out feeling when the elevator goes from the 3rd to the 5th floor. So one day he stays late at school and it's dark when he gets back. Since he's a little scared, he calls his mom and asks her to come down to pick him up.

His mom's like "Sure honey, we'll go up together."

They both get into the elevator and as the elevator is passing from the 3rd to the 5th floor, the little boy gets the feeling again, tugs on his mom's shirt and asks "Mom, do you feel that? Do you feel that?"

The lady turns to him and asks "Do I look like your mom?"

there's a dance at a party going on and a girl is sitting by herself. they play a song and suddenly a mysterious man walks in through the doors, looks around, and asks the girl to dance. she accepts, and puts her arms around his neck. he puts his around around her waist and then she suddenly faints. the crowd gathers to see what's wrong and see that handprints had burned right through her dress and into her skin. they look for the gentleman she was dancing with and he was nowhere to be found. since then, they have never played that song. morale of the story, the man was supposed to be the devil himself.

Woah, anything particularly freaky stick out in your mind?

Our house USED to be haunted. Umm, but I think the resident ghouls moved out because they don't like our pets.

On the day we moved in I took a nap from about 6 until 10pm and when I woke up I could still see the light from under my door and hear my parents talking downstairs. Then I noticed two red eyes (almond shaped) on the shelf that blinked every so often (we JUST moved in and I didn't have anything in my room except an empty shelf and my bed.) I sat there looking at it for like 5 minutes wondering which cat it could be when I remembered my door was closed. Then I looked at the windows and saw all the shades were down. Then I decided to open the lights and it was gone. o_o;;

I also had two electronic pokemon toys that could talk and wiggle around. One night two weeks later both of them suddenly went off and were talking repeatedly (they are programed to talk every 20 seconds unless you squeeze their hands) so I opened them up and flicked the switches but they wouldn't stop. I got annoyed and threw them against the wall and then they stopped. I went back to sleep and realized I should have been scared in the morning. So I stuck them in my closet (I was in 5th grade.)

A lot of weird stuff happens to me but I only get scared AFTER they happen. It doesn't register when they do. I'm slow like that. =(

Once I saw my friend run and dive into his room, clear as day. I laughed and asked what the heck was he doing ( I had just walked in and saw him do this at the top of the stairs, into a room with no outlet to down stairs other than passing me) and from down stairs in the living room I said " What" and sure enough there he was on the couch.

In the flat of my ex girl friends mum I had quite a couple of scary stuff happening to me.
One night there was someone or -thing opening the door of the flat, stumble around in the hall (which my exgf and me were sleeping next to) and then seem to dissappear. That night I thought my exgf sister was coming home, but she was sleeping at a friends house, her mum heard it too and thought the same first...
One night all the little figures my exgfs mum collected on a shelf have been rearranged, not thrown down like the cats did it sometimes...
My exgf told me that when she was younger, she left the bathtub and there were black footprints wherever she walked, but her feet were all clean...
They called some kind of spiritutal woman to help them out......and this seemed to help for some time, but some crazy stuff happened ever and ever again.

LOL Oh goodness, furbies, those things scared the heck out of me when I was younger. You went a tad OD by running over it with a 4-wheeler.

I don't know who the genius was that came up with them.

I tried tossing this clown doll (I hatehatehatehatehate clowns--well not as much as hate as deathly afraid of them) to my dog in hopes she would rip it up so I didn't have to throw it away. My mom found it outside, took it inside, washed it, and set it back on my bed.

I was 8 years old.

Yeah, it's so weird when you see people when they're not really there!

A few months ago I was driving home from school and it was already late out, Britney just came back so I was bopping to the radio, and as I was turning the corner into my block (this is LI so it gets quite ghost-town-y at night) when this dude just came out of nowhere and walked in front of my car.

I went straight through him.

I FLIPPED OUT. I thought I hit someone so I stopped the car and got off, looking around and under and down the block for any signs of the guy (I still remember what he was wearing, a beige jacket, orange cap, dark blue jeans, middle-aged white man who actually turned and looked at me for a second before I went through.)

My friends tell me in a horror movie I'd be the first to go because you're apparently not supposed to investigate the paranormal. =/

My grandparents' house is haunted. I named the ghost George when I was little. My grandfather says he has seen George, but I never have. He likes to sit in the rocking chair.

When I was living with my grandparents I would go to school in the mornings and work in the evenings/night. So when everyone else was gone during lunch time, I would nap. George would sometimes drop the remote on the floor, push my cell phone around, etc and wake me up while I was napping.

If you turned the TV off to leave the house, the TV would turn back on. So we'd say, "George, we're leaving now. Please leave the TV off." Then we'd turn the TV back off and it would stay off. We would joke that it was George really doing doing it, not because it was on old TV. Last year my grandparents bought a new TV and we still have the same problem.

We think George must be a Native American who used to live in the area. According to local history, there were several camps in the area. When the area was settled, supposedly the locals married into those that moved in. We're not really sure what happened to him, but he's not mean in any way. He just likes attention.
