    RE: Snake Bites

I have a new baby ball python; she is about 16 months old. My question is for how long does it take for a baby ball python to stop striking and begin trusting you when you hold it? Thus far, she has eaten once and been held twice and every time she has struck more than once at my hand. I have good husbandry (cyprus mulch, two hides, a warm and cool side, a day lamp, and night lamp). I know it takes time for your snake to build trust with its owner, I am just wondering for how long? Any input would be appreciated.

It all depends on the snake. I have some that have never struck and others that strike often... still others that will hiss a lot but don't strike.

The aggressive ones will usually grow out of it the larger they get. BTW, you didn't mention how long you've had your snake. It could be that she is just stressed with the new environment.

Thanks xdeus, I have had her for about 3 1/2 weeks.
