    I don't advocate for exposed electrical fixtures within my animals enclosure. You can buy...or very easily build your own protective covers. You can find them at this website...http://www.pythons.com.au/Reptile_Products_lighting.htm

    Sure...people say "well I have never had an issue with my reptiles and lights in there cage..." But I think it is an accident waiting to happen thus putting your animal in danger.
