    Honestly, the materials to set up a purpose-built snake tub are so cheap, I wouldn't even try with the chameleon cage -- go to Walmart and buy a $5 tub and a $13 thermometer/hygrometer combo, then buy an under-tank heater and rheostat for $30ish. Add some newspaper or other substrate, a water bowl and some hides, and drill some air holes, and you've got a great snake enclosure for under $60.
