Hi guys i've got a question here about feeding my girl. to get to my question i have to give some background info thats related and some thats indirectly related though. so first i've had her for two weeks tomorrow, and in that time she has eaten twice. she ate the day after i got her, so on oct 3 (1st sat this month) then she ate again 6 days later on fri 9th. so because im still figureing out her exact feeding schedule she should be due to eat any time from tonight to this saturday ( tried tonight and she showed no interest so will wait till sat). now the second bit of background. we took her to the vet today because there is some sort of weird injury to her tail which i have no idea how she got. the vet said its a little infected and gave us an antibiotic to treat it with for the next month, but other than that said she looked good. was actually impressed and suprised she ate so soon and that many times after just getting her. so now to my question, me and my family are going to visit my parents for the weekend, and we leave saturday morning. so im wondering because i want to start trying her on p/k mice, if i was to put a p/k in her enclosure on sat and leave it till sunday when we get back and see if she eats it or not, would this be ok? or would the mouse go bad or something? i know she might not be hungry yet, but then again she might be while we are gone, and i don't know if its better to give her the option to eat or just wait till we are back. i mentioned the vet trip cause i know that even though she is still curious and acts like a normal healthy bp, that maybe her appetite might be off cause of the infection. i mean the vet said that if he didn't see the tail and know it was infected he would have thought she was a perfectly health and typical acting bp. so ya i guess to summarize my ranting... should i wait till we get back on sunday to try feeding her, or am i ok to throw a pre killed in with her to see if she eats it and give her the option? or will it go bad sitting in there for 30-36hrs? thanks for putting up with my long post, and hope it isn't too confusing, and i got my question across alright. thanks guys
