I know its difficult to predict but..
..how big of an enclosure do you think an adult coastalxjungle female would need? have any of you carpet owners worked with adult coastalxjungle crosses? I'm asking because mine has outgrown her 20 gal and I'm looking into getting her into her permanent home soon..I'd hate to get something too small especially since AP's are so expensive.

Re: I know its difficult to predict but..
to be honest you can bet on it being the size of a big jungle, and jungles themselves aren't small. 8 foot isn't entirely unlikely.
in my opinion, I like more space rather than less with carpet pythons.
I'm still new-ish to carpet pythons so keep that in mind with my advice, but I'm getting a 4x2x2 cage for my 1.5 year old coastal. I'll expect to upgrade her some years from now, but then again I'm also planning on eventually needing a 4x2x2 for another snake at some point.
I'd want at least a 5 or 6 foot cage for an 8 foot carpet python, and tall enough to have some climbing accessories.
It takes many years for a carpet to reach that length however.

Re: I know its difficult to predict but..
thank you main. the recommendations I got on the other morelia forum were the same, 4x2x2. 2ft should be a good amount of height. I've always thought it sounded low until I saw a 4x2x2 in person.

definitely.. i was shocked the first time i saw one. i was looking at the 18's thinking they looked plenty tall, then i saw the 24's.
anyways, yes, a 4x2x2 is perfect for adult carpets no matter what subspecies they are.

Then I'll plan on it for sure.
