I just release about 100 small lobster roaches (or more!) into a 10 gallon tank to start my own colony, too. I came here hoping to vent and feel better about my roach phobia (I have hissers and have gotten over it with them.). But none of you are helping! Does anyone know someone who had them escape and take over their house?

The ones not willing to come out of the gross container they were in with the lettuce, etc. are in the freezer now. I won't let them out alive. The spoiled food and toilet paper roll I threw out went into a plastic bag that I then bagged three more times and put in the freezer, too.

I am wondering if I made a mistake. Can't someone help me feel better?

Also, as to the ones that died, subnoize, they may be shed exoskeletons. Don't give up yet. And if you put them as live feeders in your beardies, make sure the no escape barrier is in their tank, too!
