Re: How often do you wash your sheets?
When the apartment I lived in had a washer and dryer I washed them every 10 days.
Now that I only have a washer and have to take my things to a laundromat to dry them I wash the sheets about once a month.
This thread really makes me miss my dryer.

Re: How often do you wash your sheets?
This may be too much info but I saw on dirty jobs that a mattress can gain up to 20lbs due to skin and dirt over it's life span. I'll bet that is determined by how often sheets are washed. Just food for thought. LOL

Ewww. Thanks for that.
I've had the same mattress for YEARS and have been meaning to get a new one. Now I think I have enough motivation.
We do laundry 2-3 times a day and sheets are included maybe once a week. Comforters maybe a few times a year.

[QUOTE=HypoPita;1182782]I have a dustmite/bedbug cover (allergic to dust), nothing is getting through that! But yea, isn't that kinda gross? Reasons to shower BEFORE bed!! QUOTE]
.............. I still don't get why in the heck people think that showering before bed is a good idea. All your doing is getting yourself wet, which will be transferred to the bed (because even after you're dry you're never truely dry right after the shower), allowing bacteria to grow more readily. Then you spend your next day walking around in the sweat, dead skin, etc that you produced and kept against you all night.
And once again I have pointed out why I shower in the morning, not before bed. Who really cares if your dirty when you get in bed, you're going to be rolling around with all kinds of life forms, and probably going to be inhaling dust mite feces and carcasses no matter what you do, I'd rather be clean the next day when I am going out into the world to greet other people.

Very true, but, I also exercise daily, and normally later at night. I don't jump straight into bed either. I relax for a while. Don't sweat when I sleep, I like being cold (I know thats not the case for alot of people). I also have a mohawk..which has hair products in it..and it needs to be washed out..dont feel like my hair falling/gettingpulled out and smearing product all over my bed. Tend to shower in the morning too, just as a good pick me up.
Regardless, we are always walking around covered in crap, bacteria, dead things, dust, ect. We have strep and staph in our own mouths. Ya gotta shower at SOME point. I think when you shower is kind of a mute point. You'll always prespire, always shed dead skin, and all the other things. However, it's a good idea to get sweat from exercise off you, for your own sake, and if you do so before bed, you save your sheets of some of your odor.

Re: How often do you wash your sheets?
The purpose of showering in the morning is more for the benefit of other people as it keeps you less smelly through the day Same with after exercising.
