Lesser Hue/Tone Question
Do lessers generally lighten or darken with age? Or not change?
If I'm looking at an '09 baby fairly dark lesser can I assume that it will lighten, get darker or just stay relative the same?

Re: Lesser Hue/Tone Question
From what I've seen it seems like lessers lighten and some even take on a greenish hue as they age.

They lighten up I like them more as adults can't say that about a lot of morphs.

Re: Lesser Hue/Tone Question
Awesome, thanks!
It's just a friend of mine and I were comparing our tastes in lessers and looking at a breeder's site and she found them all to be quite dark compared to the male that I already have. The pics were from when the snakes were less than a week old and they seemed rather dark. So she was asking if they lighten and I had no clue.
Also gives me something to look forward to as my boy continues to grow.

Re: Lesser Hue/Tone Question
My boy (who is arriving today - yay!) was born light and has already made some dramatic color changes. John told me that he's going into shed, so I'll have to see how he looks after his next shed!

Re: Lesser Hue/Tone Question
There is variation so if you want a light lesser/butter get the lightest one you can find. Dark babies are going to lighten a bit, but will never be as light as a light baby. I do think it makes a difference in the combos they produce...
That is a sweet lesser Robin....

The ones I have appear to be getting lighter.

Re: Lesser Hue/Tone Question
Wow Robin, that is a super nice reduced pattern lesser. Really really interesting looking for sure! Can't wait to see the pics you post when you get it.
Thanks to everyone else as well for your opinions and also the pics. It really helps to see the difference.
I personally don't like my lessers super light. I'm a medium kinda guy opposed to rare or well done.
