A ringer is just an anomaly that pops up every now and then on animals. It is NOT genetic, it does NOT reproduce, and it does NOT mean you have a het pied on your hands. It is NOT a marker for any trait, it is NOT reproduceable, and breeding ringer to ringer will NOT get you a pied, unless they were het pieds to being with.
