    Hello Newbie here

Not only to the site but to geckos as well! I was given two cute Leo Geckos as the previous owner had to get rid of them, so I have so so much to learn!

Here is a picture of my two babies! The one in the front is Yoshi and the other is Zuki, they are about 10months old. Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated it!

I have to send a shout out to Ctawhat75, she told me about the group! HEY

Get those critters eating! They look like they skipped a few meals.

Check out Albeys "too cool" reptiles. You may have to do a web search. He's got some awesome geckos.

Welcome to the forum-you'll learn alot from everyone here.

    Re: Hello Newbie here

They seem extremely small for 10 months..the one in the front looks like a juvie (Still have the stripes) and they seem to be very emaciated as well. If you can, get a fecal done by a vet to check for parasites if they don't start to put on weight. Also, what substrate are you using? I wouldn't use any sort of loose substrate for a gecko their size.

If there is a large size difference between the two you might need to separate them. One could be bullying for food. Remember, reptiles (leos included) do not need friends/company and often do much better when housed individually.

    Good luck

Hiya Angie Welcome to one of the most addictive places on the net. Leo's are not my most knowledgeable areas but those guys are underweight from what I can see. I know you will do an awesome job though! When I did have younger ones, I used paper towels as a substrate just to avoid possible impaction.

Wax worms are not a good idea as a staple food. They're very fatty, and leos can become addicted to them to the point where they start refusing other food. If crickets and mealworms are normal, nutritious meals, wax worms are twinkies. Presuming they don't have parasites, they'll put on weight just fine eating crickets and/or mealies.
