tank size?
Hi guys my lil girl is currently 18in long and i have her in a 10gal. im curious as to (a) how big an enclosure should i use for full grown... 20 or 30gal? and (b) would she be fine to move into her "adult" size enclosure or should i keep her in her 10gal a while longer before upgrading? thanks for any help and advice.

Re: tank size?
Usually we measure ball pythons by weight. Length is very variable.
When they reach about 500g you can move them up a tank size. Either a 20g Long or a 30g breeder should be fine. Just make sure you have at least two good tight fitting hides (not half logs) and lots of cover so the little one doesn't get stressed out.

Re: tank size?
Well i just weighed her today and she is 110g, so shes gained 10g in about a week and a half. in her 10gal she has plenty of hiding spots and she seems comfortable. she moves back and forth from her little burrow in the warm end to her other hide in the cool end. and she explores now and then and i've seen her drink from her waterbowl twice now. so she seems happy. so should i wait to move her to a bigger size enclosure when she is 500g or is she alright to move now as long as there is plenty of spots to hide? i didn't quite get what you meant.

Re: tank size?
Don't move her. She is still way to tiny. Leave her in the 10g until she hits 500g then move her to a 20L or 30breeder that has plenty of hiding spots.
The change will be stressful for her so you need to make the environment extra comfortable when you do change.

Re: tank size?
Yeah, I'd definitely leave her in the 10gal for a while. My babies are currently between 160-200g each, and will be living in their 15qt tubs until they hit 500g... at which point I'll move them to 28qt tubs, and eventually 41qt for those who get really large (like my 2000g female normal). Not sure what those equal in gallons, but I think they're around the same as 10, 20 & 40 gallon tanks respectively.
Btw, what and how often are you feeding your snake - and how old is she?
