    I think she's just a normal???

Here's my girl, Dorothy. I got her at the end of the summer and the original owner said she had paid $250 for her an a hatchling '03.

I know the place she is from is not that big on hets, so I'm not sure of any, but they did mention "alien head" patterns were big. Does this just refer to a pattern within normals (that I'm guessing is not hereditary)?

Haha....I swear I would never post a picture asking that! Just about ever single noob on the corn snake forums do the same and ask what "morph" their petco normal is.

To be fair though, I am trying to figure out why her originally owner paid soo much for a normal bp.

    Re: I think she's just a normal???

That is quite odd that she paid that much. Unless it was an import that someone thought was "special" or from a recessive het clutch, but you would think he would tell you what he thought the het was for. Hmmmm. Very odd, did she get it from a pet store, they like to jack the prices up?

The "alien" patterns don't mean much other than how they look. I've got a normal that has some pretty sweet alien heads, much like the mojave (much like yours), but she's just a plain ol normal.

Nice looking normal! And yes, "alien heads" refers to a pattern seen on normal BPs... not genetic, as far as I know.

These are "alien heads" (both two-eyed and cyclops, LOL) on my normal girl Mona, who is a 4(?) year-old CH African import...

    Re: I think she's just a normal???

As for why the original owner paid so much, I agree with Isis that it could be a pet store mark-up... one of the shops near me charges anywhere from $50-250 for a normal BP, depending on their size and "quality." One time I was there they were selling a sub-adult for $250, because she apparently had the best personality they'd seen on a BP. Mmmmmkay. (they do have beautiful animals, though, and I got my lovely Delilah there)

It is somewhat possible she could be het-something, but there's no way to know without attempting to prove her out... and not knowing what she could be het for, that would probably take many years.
