    Keeping mice/rats overnight.

So tomorrow is feeding day, but the place I get my feeders at will be closed. I'm going to go buy them in maybe 2 hours, so I was wondering what kind of set up should I put them in til tomorrow? I'm going to be getting a hopper mouse, and a (Hopefully) very small rat.

Do I need to worry about aggression between the two?

I have a spare tub, can I put them in there with some water and food?

Do they require certain temps? Humidity?

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Keeping mice/rats overnight.

you can not keep rats and mice together. Rats will kill mice.

They each need food and water. Dont exceed like.. 85 or so for rodents, they just dont do well in heat. Room temps and humidity are fine.

Make sure they cant chew out of whatever container you put them in. if the tubs have any ventilation holes in them that they can reach they'll be gone in under an hour. Ive used a 10g in the past but only with animals of the same species (rats or mice) gotten at the same time from the same supplier.

If you cant find another enclosure, either feed tonight when you bring them home or get them tuesday and feed then.

Edit: I missed the fact you were buying a rat and mouse. Disregard my post

Hm... Ok, I think I'm just gonna feed them tonight then. Our little Het Pied is just a baby, so I don't think I have to worry about him refusing. I just hope the vacuum from earlier didn't freak them out!

    /rant

I swear, it doesn't make any sense to close your store for one day when you know you have the best prices in town. He constantly brags about how good his prices are and what not, and yet I have to constantly work around this stupid store being closed on Mondays.

    /end rant.
