Yes, you can drive him. Just get a styrofoam cooler for the trip, put a few small air holes, and get a few heat packs to tape to the lid of the cooler to keep him warm.

If you plan to stop overnight, bring a tub and get a human heat pad with no auto off feature, set it on the lowest setting and put the tub on that in the hotel room, and let him have some water.

    Re: BP road trip?

There will be areas driving thru that will be cold by then, but he should travel just fine. Put him in a soft cloth bag tied shut, and put that into a suitably sized box with maybe some shredded newspaper or other softener material and keep him closed up and warm. I know there are heat packs available to keep him plenty warm for the trip. Check on www.shipyourreptiles.com for the heat packs. Do not use the hand warmer ones the miltary may have made available to you. The ones from shipyourreptiles will be much better for them.
Oh yeah, thank you for your service and sacrifice for your country, and good luck with your civilian life. My son is in right now, and is thinking of making a career of it. I can't say as I can fault him, as I did six years active Navy, and retired from the reserves after 20 myself. Thanks again!!!
