Man's best friend
I took my 9 year old Dogue de Bordeaux to the Vet today because he had been limping for a couple of weeks. My dogs yearly seem to develop a limp from charging around the house and yard but recover after a week or two. An X ray showed that he has bone cancer in his leg that has almost certainly traveled from elsewhere and treatment would be futile. Worse than that he has a racing heart beat with a low pulse rate which indicates an enlarged heart working overtime. The Vet says that the heart condition will likely end his life in a matter of weeks. Whether or not the heart problem stems from cancer elsewhere is a moot point. He just was at the Vet to get an examination and shots a couple of months ago and there was no hint of this. I am crushed by this.

Re: Man's best friend
I am SO sorry to hear that. Having owned Neos in the past, it's heart breaking when your best friend doesn't live long enough to hit double digets in age. It's the worst part about being owned by a giant... their short life span. My heart truelly goes out to you and your family. XOXO-L
Grey Scale is a good thing...

Its so hard when our pets get sick....I recently lost two of my furry gang (who I had owned for many years) and I still haven't been able to create a post about their death. It's funny how they sort of just creep into our hearts...
Wishing you the best!
It is indeed the dog in the avatar. I am sorry about your dogs. It's tough when we get attached to these dogs. When I got home from the Vet yesterday I sat on my couch and started crying. I only mention this rare and embarrassing event because my dog saw me and got a concerned look on his face and started rubbing his face on me to console me, never suspecting that I was sad for him.

Re: Man's best friend
*Just hugs him*
Being told that a member of your family only has a short while to live is like being hit full force by a brick wall. It is overwhelming and makes you feel so helpless. No need to feel embarrassed by crying over the health of your friend, this shows that you love him so very much and will miss him intensely. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Dale. As a guardian who lost her best friend a short time ago, I understand how you feel. I wish you and yours all the best.
