BP birthday?
Does anyone on here celebrate their BP's bday? I do not know the exact day mine was born, but she became mine on June 2nd, 2009, and I plan on doing something that day for the snake. I might make a mouse or snake shaped cake for us then get a a nice rat for the BP.

Re: BP birthday?
Alas, we don't even know what month our BP was born in (Jan/Feb?), but our 9yo has already gotten out a tiny Christmas stocking to hang up on the mantlepiece! (Along with the dog's, cats', and guinea pig's stockings!)

Well, I'm not much of a cook so custom cakes and such are out of my league. I am, however, an aircraft mechanic, so I do understand sheet metal fabrication and templates. So what I can imagine is, take a piece of cardboard or poster board, draw an outline of a big rat and cut it out. Bake a rectangle shape cake. Lay the template on top of it and cut away everything that doesn't belong. Cover the remaing rat shaped cake in frosting and such. Enjoy.
That is my idea. I'm not even sure if it would work, but it seems logical...

I love this place. On topic, DO IT. That sounds absolutely wonderful. Next year, this will happen with Pickles.

Re: BP birthday?
Sure! Celebrate in any way that makes *you* happy! The snake doesn't care one way or the other, but if doing something special gives you pleasure, why not?
We "celebrate" our cats' and dogs' birthdays, but they don't care, except that they get a nice little treat...but the day doesn't mean anything.

Re: BP birthday?
I'm at the point of having too many snakes to know/bother, but maybe I'll celebrate the day I became a snake owner - February 27th, the same day I joined this forum.
I do celebrate my dog & cat's birthdays, even though I only know one date for sure (Cyrus, who's a purebred cat with papers). By my estimates both Rudy and Bindi are October birthdays, just like their momma. Rudy will get a special dog treat and a new toy for his 4th on 10/30, and I'll give Bindi some tuna on her estimated Halloween b-day. I know Cyrus was born on 12/15/00, so his 9th birthday is coming up too! All he wants is a pile of redwood chips... don't ask, LOL.
