Shed pictures

I think my new hatchling is going into shed so he's not eating, but I'm not quite sure how to recognize the pink belly. Can I see some normal/pink comparison pics so that I know what I'm looking for? Also, how many feedings does a hatchling normally miss as a result of shedding? This is the second week that he hasn't eaten.

Have you been offering food even though he might be in shed? I know all of my snakes and many others will still eat during shed.

I've been offering food on feeding days and the first week he refused I tried again with smaller pray a day or two later.

Sorry for the double post, but I guess I'm moreso concerned as to why my snake's not eating, and if its due to his being in shed? I've looked at that shed sticky before and I'm having trouble figuring out if that's what my snake looks like, being a noob and all.

Actually if the animal refuses it is best to feed on the next feeding schedule, 5 to 7 days from the refusal.

Offering too soon or too often after a refusal will only increase stress and lead to more refusal.

Yeah, I read that after I tried feeding a day or two after....my bad. I'm still learning.

Has the snake eaten for you at all? It could be a husbandry issue.

Some snakes won't eat during shed, some will. It isn't really much to worry about but if you want some help with your setup then we are all ears

He ate about 10 days after I got him with no fuss, other than that, nothing on the last 2 feeding dates. The second week I tried bumping him up to adult mice from hoppers (since the hoppers looked a little small). They're all f/t first week I just used water, but since that hasn't been working I've been blow drying them next to his tank. I also filled it almost half way up with paper balls because he's been out a decent amount since the first week and I was worried that he's stressed.

I have 2 identical hides that I'm worried might be too big (5-6inch circular with 1.5-2 inch ceiling), UTH at the high 80's on the inside glass side, tank is in the corner of my room under a fish tank (although the cat still likes to play on it and paw at him), with 3 sides painted black and a towel on top to keep in heat/humidity. I'm not sure what else I'm leaving out here but I've been trying to follow the guides closely for setup and husbandry.

The temps could be off. What are you using to measure temps and humidity? like what kind of thermometer.

If you can post a picture of your setup that would be great.

How long has the snake had the pink belly for?

I have two '08's that went off feed for over a month. The male finally ate an adult mouse yesterday (tried rat pups/small rats in the past but he refuses them). The female is at 43 days and counting. As long as your snake is not losing alot of weight and your husbandry is good, it should eat eventually. I have read posts here with snakes going 6 months without eating. Regarding shedding, have you noticed cloudy eyes, or does the skin look dull on the snakes body? If so that could be the case.
