Red face Drake, the Savannah Monitor, asleep on my hand.

    This is Drake:

He's such a baby. He's asleep as I type this. He had been out playing and swimming a while ago, so he's tired, just like a little kid.

No... he's not dead. I gave him a bath in the tub with about 2-3inches of lukewarm water.

He's a good sleeper lol, and he also sleeps late like his parents (owners).

We're planning on building him a big cage when he gets bigger. For now he's got a 40Gal.

I'd like to see pics of his enclosure. From your first pic, it looks like he has a "hot rock" and sand. Waaaaaaaay wrong. If fed properly, he'll grow out of that 40 gal in a month...

what do you recommend we use as substrate and what kind of heat should we use to help him with digesting his food if not a rock?

we're planning on making him a bigger cage soon, that's why he's in this smaller cage for now.
