I think....
I want to add a black snake to the Nest, but I don't know whether to choose a Mexican Black King or a Black Milksnake.
Any opinions on either or both?

Re: I think....
I'd go Black Milk because you get to witness the color change and they are really easy to handle once they get past being nervous babies.

Re: I think....
Skip them both and get an Indigo.
They get big but have fantastic personalities.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Agreed. They are also extremly impressive as adults. Most MBK only reach between 3-5ft. Black Milks adverage between 5 1/2ft and 6 1/2ft and are capable of reaching over 7ft. Plus they can live at room temp so that cuts down on the electric bill lol.
One problem with indigos are the price and the permits and stuff involed. If your willing to go through that stuff go for it.

The only problem is that indigo cannot be kept as pet in GA regardless of their origin. http://georgiawildlife.dnr.state.ga....nt=6&txtPage=2
I say go with a Black Milk.

It must mean native subspecies of milks. I doubt they would make it illegal to own non-native milks because they are a native species, if that makes any sense. Black Milks come from Costa Rica and Panama, thats a very far way from Georgia!

Re: I think....
So, admittedly, I don't know a lot about Indigo's either - couldn't you get one indigenous to another state and be ok?

Technically yes you can however the one that most people refer to when talking about indigo is the eastern indigo which is the one on the list.
Also even if not prohibited in someone's state the indigo requires a permit (except in CA)
The best is always to contact the department of natural resources when in doubt.
