I actually bought some mounting suction cups and used small sheetrock screws to attach them to the wood that we used in our enclosure. I would highly recommend this method because you don't have to worry about vapors or anything sticking to the snake if it warms too much from a heater, etc.

PS make sure that you carefully find your contact points on the wood so that the cups align correctly with the surface of the tank.
