    Upcoming Surgery

Hello everyone. I haven't been on in a while (what's it been, a week or more) because life has been crazy. I've gone from considering thinning my collection, to not, to considering it again, to maybe not. But the biggest thing on my plate right now is a surgery coming up on Monday. I have a dermoid cyst on my right ovary that measures 6.9cm in diameter. They will be removing the entire right ovary and tube and since they also found multiple cysts in my left ovary, they might try removing any cysts they find, but they will be leaving that ovary in since I want kids.

I'll be out of work a minimum of 3 weeks, so expect me on constantly or off and on, depending on how I feel afterward, . So wish me luck and healing, positive vibes are always welcome.

I'd be scared for you, but you sound fearless. You seem very brave.

I hope all goes well for you.

    Re: Upcoming Surgery

Its not major surgery. Nothing like open heart surgery or brain surgery. I'm a bit nervous but that is to be expected. My mother works for the doctor doing the surgery and she will be making sure everything that needs to be done, is done. Hubby has the day before, day of, and day after my surgery off so I will have someone with me.

Actually the real only thing I'm worried about is boredom. I have to take 3 weeks off of work and during the first week, I can't cuddle my kitties (Ramman, who is like my son, is going to go nuts without Mama!) or do any chores. My husband will have to do the snakes and all other pets for at least a week. Hopefully the doctor won't keep me from my animals for too long.

You know if you tell them that you are nervous before you go in for surgery they will give you some fun meds You won't remember much after they give it to you also. I would wish you luck but I think prayers will be better. You'll be fine though, I've had plenty of surgeries unfortunately. On the bright side you get a vacation.

    Re: Upcoming Surgery

I can't wait for my vacation! I'm actually going to head to the library today to pick up a few books to read. I fly through books and I need 3 weeks worth of books! I have also been promised a new computer game to help me pass the time. Hehe.

I don't like medication. My headaches have to feel like I got hit by a bus before I take even one ibuprofen. I will be taking as little as possible.

Thanks for the prayers and good luck wishes. Who knows, maybe they'll let me take a picture of what they take out! I know they said they will let me see it before they send it for testing. I also told them if they want to take pictures of the surgery, I'd love copies. I know, I'm just sick like that.
