I did my move from North Carolina to Arizona during the Summer months and this is how:

1. I made 4 "shipping boxes" out of 1/2" plywood and placed rope handles on the side for ease on the lifting and moving. I installed cheap battery operated digital thermostats (gardening section at Wal-Mart) in each box.

2. Bagged each snake separetly and distributed them the best I could within the 4 boxes to avoid overcrowding during the 3-day drive.

3. I purchased "Rubbermaid Blue Ice" reusable packages to place inside the boxes to avoid overheating, I re-frozed them every night in the hotels that we stopped for resting.

4. I installed a power inverter in my SUV rated to 1000 watts, and pre-fab flex watt for each box just in case my A/C got too cold in the back of the cab.... It never did. I did set them up in the hotel to keep temps within range.

I will say that it was not fun, I tried planning for contingencies and luckily nothing happen. I did my move in 3 days, in two vehicles with 36 snakes, 1 dog, 3 cats, 4 bins full of rats and oh yeah a wife and 3 kids.... and I must say it was pretty uneventful, the hardest part was off-loading and re-lolading everyone during our stops.

Good luck with your move, my guess is that if you can ship a snake overnight from the east to the west or vice-versa then you could very easily move yours inside a nice styrofoam lined cardoard box within the climate controled environment of your vehicle. Just take precautions and have some heat or cool packs available just in case.
