Desert trait in the Goldfinger Project?

Browsing some older posts, I noticed this one about Deserts that really caught my eye. The Pastel Desert in this post is strikingly similar to the pastels produced in the Lustro X Goldfinger clutch.

One of the abberant Pastel GF sibs with a normal sib.

As some may remember, we also had this very pretty abberant/reduced patterned girl in the clutch......desert?

So I guess the question is, do all Pastel Deserts have a busy abberant pattern? What are the chances that this is the same trait?

One more of these two very different sibs.

For now, I just refer to this trait as "Luster" within the GF project, and I guess we'll see how things play out this season.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    -Evan

Wow those are awesome. I wish I knew more about the genetics to be of some assistance. Very nice. Put me down for one of those babies.

I love that last shot Evan. Is that the girl that is coming here or her brother? From when I first saw pictures I thought they had a very desertish coloration; I'm glad I'm not the only one with a headache

I do too, I thought it was a great comparison shot. That is your Girl Rich, and she pounded two prekilled pups today from tongs and is looking amazing!

I can't wait to see what pops out of this project next!

    Wow very desert.

Even have that weird orange hue to them as well.

    Wickedly cool Evan.

    Such a fun project.

Re: Desert trait in the Goldfinger Project?

IMO the normal looking sib almost looks like a Het russo. I had the opportunity to see a Het russo in person over the weekend at a show and Mark from MBReptiles showed me his Het Russos and helped explain the differences from normals.

That normal sibling has all of the same markings, the high white, the very light coloration and the reduced pattern.

Just thought I would throw that out there....

Good luck figuring out this genetic mystery.

    EDIT: Pic for reference.... http://www.cuttingedgeherp.com/nss-f...cSNormal05.jpg

Re: Desert trait in the Goldfinger Project?

I definately see some similarities but your pastel seems to have a busier head pattern and the other one has a golder/bronzier tone than the desert. It may just be a variation of that trait.

Looks like a great project with tremendous potential. Nice animals
