The thing is if you want one real bad now you still will in a few years, and if after being educated on the subject your mom still refuse to have a snake in HER house then you should respect her wishes.
In a few years when you are old enough and on your own you will then be able to have any snake you want and make up for it.
I grew up in a household where reptiles were not allowed and I did just fine and now that I have settled I made up for it with a few critters.
Sometimes you just have to be patient!
