    Best Display Herp?

I tried to cover the range of options, but feel free to elaborate and specify, or just tell me of a choice I didnt mention.

I mean for this to be both personal and practical, so I am going to allow multiple votes. Ie- you think some really cool retic morph would be a cool display, but realize it isnt for everyone, vote for that plus something else you think is really cool but probably a reality for more ppl. My goal for this poll is to just see where people's interest lies in what looks cool. We are years away from getting any of the animals, but would like to see what people think about what makes great display animals that can actually be great display animals. For example, something that hides a lot or requires insanely hard husbandry skills is probably not the best thing for a conversation starter. Be creative yet practical.

With that said, enjoy and see what people like.

Edit: I realize I have no control over this, but please limit to 3 choices per person.

i voted chams and torts. There is nothing more eye catching to me than a gorgeous Chameleon. I can stare at them for hours. And tortoises, are just so cute and personable, and they have little table/box cages that can allow you to see them, unlike my BPs who i see rarely but still love oh-so-much.

    I like this poll.

I voted for GTP, but there are a few that I think could make the cut. With GTP you have the chance to watch the killer color changes and as adults they display really well. Emeralds are amazing as well, but I think the GTP temperment wins out there. I also like Orange or Red ATB or a really nice Carpet.

    Re: Best Display Herp?

OK, I voted "cold", before reading your post, and went over 3 by one or two . . .

Chameleons and a few other lizards, like iguanas and basilisks make awesome displays. I love bloods and balls, but they hide a lot - not great displays. GTPs, emeralds - those would be pretty cool. I know a lot of Morelia keepers maintain pairs together, so I wonder if, for a display only situation, you could take that a bit further with arboreals - imagine a good-sized, "forested" enclosure with multi-colored arboreal boids draped among the branches . . . red & yellow ATBs, GTPs in yellow and blue, and jungle & jaguar carpet pythons . . .

Oh, yeah. That would look awesome. Might be risky, but it'd look awesome!

So far out of all my animals I think a albino monocle cobra is an amazing display animal. I know hots are not for everyone. But shes never hiding shes always out and she loves to hood. She will come right up to the glass and check you out. Although being shes still very young im sure she wont hood like this forever. It seems whenever I go to a zoo or something the cobras there never hood and are always hiding. But I just think shes a wonderful display animal. I also think the gtp is one of the best display animals. There gorgeous and would brighten up any room

Eye catchers...Hmmm.....Pewters, pastel/YB/superstripes, and lesser ball python mixes always catch my eye as do the albino and blue iguanas that Tom Crutchfield has, but I've been jonesin' for a Philippine Sailfin Dragon, so I've got to vote PSD.

I think GTP hands down. They're so awesome all coiled up. I want to have a wicked nice display living viv with one in it someday. Just have to convince the g/f to let me put it in the living room!

    Re: Best Display Herp?

Voted Other python. I think a really nice carpet python makes the best display, because of their high contrast, formidable size and they're semiarboreal meaning they sometimes like to perch GTP style, which also looks awesome
