Unhappy Slightly worried about this hatchling

    Hi,

This one came out with a pink stub ( about 8mm long ) coming from the belly button which I thought would dry up and fall off fairly quickly. I wish I had grabbed some pictures but I didn't think of it at the time.

He only left the egg yesterday but none of the others have left traces of blood on the papertowels.

The last one of the clutch is still in his egg but the first one only left his on the 20th so am not quite panicking about him yet.

Any advice on what I should do/ not do?

yea give it a few days.. they will dry up and fall off.. If it just came out of the egg yesterday then I wouldn't worry just yet..

No worries D. I had this happen about 6 times this season. It's fine!

It's going to be okay. Keep the towel moist if, what he doesn't draw into himself will dry up and fall off.

Re: Slightly worried about this hatchling

I had a few like that last year. They all ended up drying up/falling off. Shouldn't be a problem

OMG, what is it? It looks like a cut with a piece of intestine protruding! Glad it's nothing/normal. Ack!
