    Quack Exotic Vet.

k tell me if im outa line her. had 1650 gram normal female that just started showing sighns of RI. so i call the only vet within like 50 miles that will see snakes. the nurse took us back and i asked do you all see many snakes. her answer was we see our share of them.? doc comes in looks in her tub for a second and asks so this is a burm right. i paused for a second and said nooooo this is a ball. he said wow thats the biggest ball ive ever seen in my life. i told him she is not full size prolly will get quite a bit bigger. he replied man idk but thats one huge ball. k now try to imagine where my confadence level is at by now.this guy is grilling me badly trying to get one on me, temp ? and that stuff. he asked how big a cage she in i told him a 41qt tub. and he rasied hell with me told me she needed to be in a like 4'x4'x2' tank. that i was not properly taking care of it and stuff. i told him some of the most renowned breeders keep there snakes in tubs like this one not to mension every one i know and most on her. he said it was all wrong and he was looking out for the animal. now i took a male that i had been pairing with her before the ri reared its ugly head. told him the scoop and he didnt even look at him to make sure he was ok. now if a good vet was actually interested in the animals well being dont you think he would have at least pulled him outa his tub and looked him over quick. he diddnt even look through his tub at him. this guys a vet inLima, Ohio so i would NOT recomend him to anyone.

oh ya he said he would call me in a week and see how she was doing and he called. told him theres a little crack to her breathing yet and he said o ok just wanted to see how she was. not lets look at her again in a week or anything just o. told him the male was starting to show signs of it also and he didnt even care to make an appointment with me to check him out.

Wow sorry to rant. just pist.

    thanks for listening

    Eric

I think you might need to re write that paragraph a bit. I could barely understand it. If that is how you were talking to the vet I am sure he had no clue what you were talking about, lol.

But yeah, that guy sounds more like a petsmart employee or something. :/

I understood what you said. Shes right he does sound like a petsmart employee

I would have grabbed my snakes and walked out when he said," this is a Burm right?"

There are 6 Year old kids out there that can tell the diffrence! And he calls himself an exotic vet

Np dude, didn't know you were writing from a cell phone. Sometimes its just good to read over what you wrote just to catch a few things.

Wow, like it was stated before, just because somebody is a vet, doesn't mean they know everything, and they're definately not always right.

I'm curious to see what kind of snake they would say I have if I was to take my anaconda to the vet. I've had people say: "Nice Ball, looks healthy", "Nice Burmese", "Nice Boa". Atleast with the boa statement they're partially right. Some people have said I thought it was an anaconda once I stated what type of snake which I know was a jackload of crap.
