Just went to my first Expo!

I'm up in Canada, and there was an Expo in Toronto. I was able to get time off work, and my father kindly drove me up.

I got my ball back in March, and quickly got attached, and started to like the idea of having a small breeding collection, so this was a chance to scope out all the morphs I've been researching.

This was my first time seeing morphs in person. It blew my mind.
My opinion changed about a few of them, I started liking ones I hadn't before, fell in love with a totally expensive one
    (Toffee, ),
and want to breed them more than ever. I got to hold a little VSP Axanthic. He was so sweet.

Brian Barczyk from BHB was there. He did a short talk followed by a Q&A. He's great to listen to, is totally passionate about what he does, and was generally super cool.

I talked to a lot of other vendors, which was amazing. Hearing stories and getting advise and information from people who have been doing this for years is very impressive.

Other highlights were Rainbow Boas, Red Tail Boas, Beardies, and Blue Tongue Skinks. Aaaand the bin full of weaned rat babies. Cutest. Food. Ever.

Anybody else get to go? 8]

I live all the way in the heck by the West Coast, so I didn't get to go, but...

"Cutest. Food. Ever." made me laugh.

I was there too, scoping out rats to switch baby from mice to rats =P I looked at the live ones to get an idea of the size I was looking at,and picked up one of the rat fuzzies, which started snuffling my palm. I was all "Awww, you don't know you're food..." and I almost wanted to buy one of the weanlings and keep it as a pet.

Kel and Kernie from BHB were awesome, and Kernie's even cuter in person

Haha, I grew up with fuzzy pets - dogs and hamsters and rats - so I spent a while with my hand in the weanling bin. They're food, and I get that, but I still love them. xD

I only got to go Saturday, but that's okay, it was fantastic.
Hopefully switching over goes easy for you.
When I switched my guy from mice to rats, his feeding response went up 10x, I swear. I had to put on a big zombie mouse dance production to get him to eat. With rats? I wiggle it for a second and it's gone.
I wanted to go home with a weanling, too.
xD I didn't talk to anybody from BHB ('cept for the Q&A) but BHB's display was awesome. I really wish I'd been more camera happy.

I'm jealous. Going to my first expo next week. Hope it's as fun as yours sounds!

I have issues with cute food. I'm a rodent fanatic. But, *sigh*, in my life, snakes come first.

Re: Just went to my first Expo!

I bet it will be! Have a great time. I was so excited, just walking around and taking everything in. My only regret is not taking more pictures. And, you know, not buying anything. You see all these happy people with their little containers. But that'll come next year. Hopefully.

I'm lucky my baby takes frozen/thawed, but if I do get into breeding... I'm sure I'll have to do live at one point or another.
I love snakes, but do still like fuzzy babies. Considering getting a rat but... I'd be the idiot who'd pet it, forget I did, and then go to check on my snake. I haven't been bit yet, but I'm pretty sure it would happen within three days if I brought a rat home. xD

Lost eh? You mean Lots, lol.

Nice snakes btw. I love expos myself. Thought I haven't been to one in almost a year, I will be attending the one in New Orleans this November. I need to get a bigger tank for Isis. May even pick up another snake, depending on what they have. I'm always on the lookout for something new.
