    Re: Incubator options

Is one foot of 11 inch flexwatt really enough to heat that whole cooler?

It takes one two foot section of 11x12 flexwatt to heat my mini fridge.

    Re: Incubator options

I made own Cooler incubator this year and it was VERY easy. Cost was under 100 dollars without a Thermostat. We will see how it goes this year I hope

So that's a no? How do you have a 2 foot section of 11x 12? I'm just trying to figure out how much flexwatt to use.

They used to send it uncut when you order so much at a time, I "think" they still do.
I bought multiple feet and I cut it at two feet long for the inc.
I tried a one foot piece, the t-stat ran full time and I didn't like that, so I put two feet in and the t-stat did't work so hard to keep 90 degrees in the tub inside the inc.

My mini fridge is a 4 cubic foot model, I only used 1 shelf last year but it will hold two 6qt tubs on each shelf.
I liked it's ease of use so much I'm putting a twin one next to it this year, lol.

This is before I altered the position of the flexwatt, but it gives you an idea of where I placed it.

If your going to use both shelves then a little fan to circulate the air and keep steady temperature top to bottom works great.

Smaller clutches, 2-4 eggs, may be able to double up in one shoe box. But a big clutch will definitely need its own box.

I was considering the kit and making my own cooler one if I need more space after my wine cooler one, or if that one doesn't work fir some reason.

I setup one like this one 2 seasons ago, but did not cut holes in it. It works great and I only have one foot of flexwatt in it. It can hold 8 6qt shoe boxes...
