ways to treat resp. infections.
just waznted to see if any one had some good working ways to treat resp. infection at home. yes i no the best way is to go to the vet. (for all you crazy people out there lol.) but i just wanted to see if any one new of any thing that works. i have been told that soaking them in like 95 deg. water for 3 days can work. i just want to see what you guys have done. thanks alot.

Re: ways to treat resp. infections.
Soaking them in 95° water? Nope, whoever told you that was inaccurate. However you can help them by raising the temperature on the cool side, and if you can, possibly the hot side, assuming it's not where it's suposoto be at already. The only thing that can cure RI is a vet though.
EDIT:
When I say help them, I mean prolong any long-term damage, or from them getting any worse, while you wait for the vet, but it won't cure them, only antibiotics can do that.

Re: ways to treat resp. infections.
Fist off get your husbandry right and it should help them while you make an appointment to the vet. Then go to the vet.

Raising the temps and humidity can help battle the RI.. However they can trun real bad in a heart beat so don't wait to late to get it to the vet.
Also change the water every day washing the bowl every time you change it..and make dang sure their enclosure is clean.. If I were you I'd clean it every 2-3 days.. I mean clean it goood!

A snake with a respiratory infection needs to see a vet so it can be put on some antibiotics. Obviously you would not treat bronchitis by soaking in a bath that is 95 degrees for three days.
This is a care sheet that will explain why the snake got one to begin with and what to do to help your snake until you can get him/her to the vet.
