Pearl River, Louisiana. It is in the southeastern part of the state.....about 35 miles north of New Orleans.

Very nice. There's very little chance of me finding little gems like that in my area. That St.Paddy fellow has a lot to answer for.

Re: These things just seem to find me...
Cool finds! I find them in my area also. While growing up in the '80's I caught a gravid female. She laid about two dozen eggs which hatched in a plant filled terrarium in my bed room. Mom and all the babies were released.

I'm also from Louisiana, and I find those all the time too. Are you going to keep them?

Re: These things just seem to find me...
I do not know the exact point where the larger female was caught by my neighbor....so I am going to hold onto her instead of screwing up a local genepool by releasing her somewhere she doesn't belong.
The little female....I will probably hold back too....in hopes of finding a male in my yard to start a breeding project with. Having your own 'hobby line' of snakes can be fun, so I think that I will give it a shot if the opportunity presents itself.
