    Some random field pictures...

I have not been having the greatest luck of finding snakes in the field.....I seem to come across everything else though

A gator and map turtle from North Louisiana.

    Just passing by...

Decided to come scope me out....

Wanted to know if I had something edible...

Really wanted to know if I had a snack..

Funny little guy kept following my fishing cork back to shore....ruined my fishing but gave me some great entertainment.

Some sort of map turtle...just hanging out.

Back to South Louisiana...near the Honey Island Swamp...

Nothing but mammals, birds and scenery...

    Whitetail...

Before hunting season, swamp rabbits are fearless....this one would not get out of the road...I had to get out of my truck and hollar at it to make it run off.

These beautiful flowers grow on one of the nastiest looking stalks around....I just ignore the stalks

    Nice sun rays...

Interesting to see some young turkey running with some hens. Turkeys have been 'off limit' for hunting here since Hurricane Katrina. High winds and floods do not bode well for turkey populations. Great to see them coming back in force

Young turkey are so ugly....like a mixture of vultures and veloceraptors...ha ha...

Just thought I would share....Hopefully I get some good late season herping done and have more pictures to share soon

Awesome finds Daniel. I still think thatr when I can find some time, I need to come meet up and do an outing with you.

p.s. It is great to see the turkeys coming back. I haven't heard one around the house since the hurricane.

Anytime. I usually ride down the road to Pearl River Wildlife Management Area to attempt a little exercise walking in the woods....we can go herping in the morning and go shoot the guns at the public range afterwards.

I went out this morning since they finally reopened the best herping road around. No snakes....but I did see tons of these little guys. Bring a scoop net if you need to stock your pond up with catfish

I ran a group of about seven adults off the road this morning. I have seen more turkeys this year than anything else to be honest.

Great gator and baby catfish shots! Baby catfish are hilarious. I once caught one with my hands as a kid, it seemed to be enjoying itself, as long as i dunked it once in a while... Made all sorts of goofy noises. It was really cute.
