If i clean the cage(s) will it keep the stink to a minimum?
Also what are some ways to battle the smell? Like the plug in air fresheners?
I would like answers from the source, the breeders who have done this or have battled the smells.

The reason I am asking this, is becase if i do breed anything, it would have to be in my room, and since it winter, the windows will be closed . So if keeping them in my room is a bad idea please say so, as i have read the smell and have diseases. But people keep them as pets, so the cant be to bad right?
Any input will be very helpful, thanks in advance.

I have 4 rats in a cage in my room, less than 4 feet from my bed. I spot clean it every morning, change bedding out completely once a week. It doesn't stink at all. In fact, the desk I am sitting at right now is less than 1 foot away from the cage(I can touch it from where I am sitting), and I can't smell a thing.

As long as you clean out once a week and spot clean daily, it should be fine.
