    flex-watt ?s

So my flex watt finally came in and i just had a few ? before i set it up.

    1. I know that normal UTHs need clearance either between whatever its sitting on and the pad or between the tank right? Is flex watt the same way or can i just sandwich it and put it all sitting on each other?

    2. Going through several threads on setup, I've been coming across so many ways to do it, so would this be right? I don't have a rack, i just have a single tub set up on a table, so I don't want to tape the flex watt to the table
    -Bottom of tub
-Probe (taped to bottom of tub with foil tape)
    -flex watt
-Foil tape (attaching flex watt to tub)

    3. Does there need to be foil tape in between the flex watt and the tub or can the flex watt touch directly?

    4. Also would it be okay if i completely wrapped the flex watt in foil tape? That way i could maybe make it a little easier to take on and off whenever i clean. I just don't want to do anything that will result in fire or explosions or something crazy. (I do have a thermostat so hopefully we're not worrying about the general overheating and cooking snakey)

Sorry for the long questions, but I just wanted to make sure i had what i was asking completely clear.

    Thanks for any help !

you tape the uth to the bottom of the tank either way shouldnt matter but some say that because they get too hot and will crack the glass

yes this is correct, but i would just tape the probe to the flexawatt

    3. Does there need to be foil tape in between the flex watt and the tub or can the flex watt touch directly?

nope sure dont the tub can touch it directly

    4. Also would it be okay if i completely wrapped the flex watt in foil tape? That way i could maybe make it a little easier to take on and off whenever i clean. i would just use the foil tape and tape it to the bottom of the tub on 2 sides so it can still be pealed off with ease

    Thanks for any help !
