    Smile My new babies ate!

This isn't really a question or anything, but I had to share... I just fed my new babies, who arrived this past Thursday, and they all took their meals!

I know you're supposed to wait a week before feeding, but my other snakes were due to eat today - and I really want them all on the same schedule. First I threw in a (live) hopper mouse for Pedro, the Mojave... he only looked for a second before striking, and got it on the first try. Then I gave the het boy a hopper, and also threw in a rat weanling for the (2008) female het. Roz took hers after about 2-3 minutes, but Orlando was still staring at his. After a while I noticed his hopper was in the empty hide, so I reached in and removed it - then left the room. I came back a minute later, and Orlando was coiled tightly around the mouse. I'm very excited they took their meals, and hopefully that means they are feeling comfortable. I'll try handling them once they've digested, since I want to get started on that right away... they're still pretty skittish when I'm around, so it might take some patience. Wish me luck, and any tips on "taming" new hatchlings would be appreciated!

P.S. My other hatchling (spider male) is arriving on Wednesday, so I'll probably feed him the following Sunday.

What "new babies"??? I must've missed the big news or something... what's going on? I fed our Patriot the day after we got him, and he gobbled it up. Of course, turns out that he was literally starving at the time and should've moved up from hoppers weeks/months before.

But I want to hear all about how you added to your snakey family!

Sorry, I only introduced them on the photo forum! Here ya go: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=101113

To summarize, I got three snakes from Justin Kobylka last Thursday - a baby male Mojave, baby male het Albino, and a 2008 female het Albino. I'm also getting a male spider on Wednesday, so now I just need my new rack (hopefully arriving soon) and I'm all set!

Oh wow, no, I hadn't seen your announcement in the Photos forum (I go there only once a week or so). You're like me, taking pictures of them in their travel bag before even taking them out, LOL! They're nice, especially li'l Mr. 'Tude. Congrats!

Thanks! And of course I had to take pictures immediately... I have to document their arrival, right? I'm pretty anxious to start handling them, but will have to take things slowly with the boys - the girl seems pretty mellow, though. Can't wait to meet my spider now!

Great! My other new baby (the spider) arrived last Thursday, and he is also fabulous... they ALL ate their mice yesterday, and the new guy ate two. I posted some pictures on the photo forum, if you want to see the mojo & spider's feedings. The boys are starting to settle down, especially Pedro - but Orlando still has a bit of attitude. It's all for show, though, and he doesn't even connect with the strikes. Here are a few recent pictures...

    Orlando

    Rosalind

One of the spider's feeding pics I posted on the other forum - butt first!

Does it look like he's going into shed?

And Pedro, eating his mouse around the bowl
