I am getting two corns today!
I found a posting on craigslist for two corns looking for a good home. One is an Okeetee morph named Elvis and the other is anerythristic named Ozzy. Can't wait to meet these guys. These will be my first corns and I've gone over the care sheets and I'm familiar with having a snake from my ball, so my question is:
Any good tips for these guys/quirks they may have?
I've heard they are super quick and much more active than balls.

Corns make great pets and from my experience are as close to being mistake proof as you can get. They aren't picky about humidity, eat great, are generally non-nippy (with exceptions of course), and do well with a UTH for heat. They don't hide as much as BPs but will use them if you give them places to hide.

They're more flighty as hatchlings. Most, i.e. 99%, of adults are pretty calm. They're more active than ball pythons, but not hyper active.
You should do fine with them, they're almost fool proof snakes. Keep the temps 78-82, a nice comfy hide, clean water, and they're set!

Re: I am getting two corns today!
I've owned Corns before, and do currently own one at the moment, and I would say they are pretty nice snakes. They are a lot more active than BPs because they are very adventurous and like to slither around rather than staying in one spot. Colubrids, such as a Corn snake, are normally like that. The pythons and boas are the chill snakes, that's one of the main reasons why I own them. The Corns, through my experience, seem like the easiest to care for along with their awesome temperament.

Re: I am getting two corns today!
I have owned my corn for a few years now and I adore him. The color morphs are great and also inexpensive for the most part. One tip I have is that they might require more room than BP's, depending on the particular snake. My corn in particular likes to move around a lot and climb branches. He is currently in a 29 gallon with a 40 watt light and some climbing branches/fake plants. Eats like a pig every week... but being on f/t his whole life, he really sucks at wrapping his prey... it's pretty hilarious to watch
As far as being quick/active - definitely when they are younger, but my corn is now 618 grams and getting up there in size. While he's faster than my BP's, he is pretty easy to handle. Way easier than my gopher snake.
