They're more flighty as hatchlings. Most, i.e. 99%, of adults are pretty calm. They're more active than ball pythons, but not hyper active.
You should do fine with them, they're almost fool proof snakes. Keep the temps 78-82, a nice comfy hide, clean water, and they're set!
