Try this link? I know there's been at least two fairly large posts about this same subject in the past week.

its not about the age, but about the weight. depending on who you talk to some say the girl must weigh at least 1200g's and other say at least 1500g's. There also is a rule of thumb to wait 2 winters before breeding your girl ball python ... hope this helps

I have heard of very, very nasty breeders that feed every other day just to get them fatten up. Also heard the nastiest sometimes force feed during shed. Terrible people do terrible things. Now you don't want to do that because then people won't trust you as a breeder. Just a little fact I thought may help your decision. Now you can breed at 1200g but thats has a way better chance of slugs and a smaller clutch. I would wait till your able to make a girl atleast 1400 to 1500g you will have a better clutch then.

I wouldn't say you are a nasty breeder. I offer food while my snakes are in shed. I think they meant FORCE feeding while in shed. Some snakes refuse meals while in shed so a nasty breeder would force feed them if they refused. Now every 3 days seems excessive. I was feeding every 5 days for a few weeks, but went back to every 7 again. Do you feed every 3 days on a regular basis?
    Under Construction.....

Every 3 days until they are around 700g, then every 6 days

    with my small experience :

    i am pretty sure

THERE IS NO WAY A 1000 GRAMS FEMALE BREED !

Might be possible but I hope no one try it ! There is more chance of unsucess and of death than anything else.

If the female is too young or too small don't breed her. 1500g is the minimum but 1800-2000g is the best.

Not because they reach 1500g that they are ready to breed. Just like it's not because a male reach 600g that he will reproduce.

Male can breed younger (less than a year happens), but that's usually not the case, and if he can get tired quickly and get in problems.
