He's probably just trying to hold on because he feels like he's going to fall.

They can shed that quickly sometimes, it's not that unusual.

Yeah, I agree he's just holding on... your wrist/arm probably feels like a tree branch, and as terrestrial snakes, they have the instinct to grab tightly! Mine will do the same when I have them around my wrist, so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. As for the shedding, I guess that's normal if they are growing fast - how old and big is your BP?

Nothing sounds out of the ordinary here! Just a snake doing what it does.

Just want to point out that spiders "spin" and do weird things like that.

Re: my spider ball constricting addiction?

That's funny, cuz my BP is probably the most laid-back BP I've ever encountered so far. He's actually quite clumsy, and will wrap himself around my hand just enough to hang there. He won't squeeze. Compared to a pet store BP that I held that was as rigid as a board. The poor thing looked so stressed.

You would know if he was really trying to constrict you. As far as the shedding, they can shed that fast sometimes, it's not abnormal.

One thing you can do when holding your spider is while he is around your wrist, hold him with your hands and support his body, he may not try to grip as tight as he feels he is more secure.

Re: my spider ball constricting addiction?

Baby used to hang on for dear life when I picked him up, after two months of regular handling he just sits and chills, unless I'm moving around or he's stressed about something - in which case he hooks the end of his tail around my finger. Then last night my roommate asked to hold him for the first time, and he wrapped around her hands and squeezed like the ****ens while staring up at her. As soon as I put my hand beside him he let go of her and came right back to me, cool as a cucumber.
