    best possible pairings??

ok, quite new to breeding, we have out 1st eggs in the incubator. For next year though, we are looking to breed a few extra.
i'll list the snakes that will make weight, and what i want to know is which pairings YOU would do to get the best results.
I'm not looking to sell on anything other than normals or if i have several males of the same thing..

    so males..
Yellow belly 700 grams or so 2007
albino 08 and about 450 grams
spider 800 or so grams, hopefully about to be proven
paster 06 i think, pretty must right on a kilo.
I have some younger males but they probably will not figure in breeding plans until 2011.

    females we have:-
yellow belly shes 900 grams, but pounding rats
albino, shes 1250 grams, so she'll be fine
reduced pattern, laid eggs but we missed them
big normal, eggs in the incubator now.
    another big normal
there are a few smaller normals that could make it, but not likely.
pastel, not sure of the lineage but looks very much like a grazini (sp)

there will also probably be a genetic stripe male ready.
    thanks guys

    Re: best possible pairings??

First, pair the two yellowbellies and the two pastels. If you're not looking to sell the morphs this season, getting yourself some super co-doms is definitely a first step, and you'll be so glad you did it, down the road. If you get a male double co-dom, he can replace your current breeder after a year.

Pair the yellowbelly with the reduced pattern.

Pair the spider with the albino female, and with the normals. You can make albino spiders down the road.

Give the albino male the year off, unless you have a spare normal--if so, then make some hets, and keep the girls to raise up to make more albinos.

IF the G-stripe male is ready, put him with the albino female instead of pairing her with the spider.

Of course, everyone's going to have a different opinion on THIS one.

    Re: best possible pairings??

I have an 08 female het albino, she is planned for the albio in 2011.
The albino female is planned to go to a pied male and keep back to produce albino pieds.
i'm guessing he wont be to size, i havent got him yet he'll be here next week an will be very small art a guess, so the next idea was to the spider to get a male spider het albino for a future mating the the albino.
I have a650 gram female fire, she may make weight the way she is going, planning on firefly with that one, although could also go right in for BEL with another male fire.
I deffo plan to do YB to YB, that was always the idea, and i would keep an ivory, whatever the sex.

we were thinking about doing pastel female there to the spider, wifey wants bumblebees, but you think super pastel is a wiser option?.. i'll probably do both anyway, just in different years.

Do the super-pastel first--Imagine a 50% bee clutch in your future. You just can't beat a double co-dom.
