    Re: Burm Rescue Update

Thanks guys, we aquired her from people who "couldnt take care of her because they had a baby"

    I HATE THAT EXCUSE.

its been right around a year of owning her.
they fed her a 3 lb rabbit every other month...
now shes up to a 9 lb rabbit every 14 days!

Wow sory so long I have been busy..
So I would just say its not to big cause your burm is 9'-0 long sounds plenty lrg.
I would say it didn't care for the taste? I have had mine refuse just due to the smell. I would stick to F/T rats/rabbits. You can get very small rabbits and they love them.

As far as an update .. Well its been awhile so no pics yet but she is huge!!! She is a fatty eating 8 to 9 pound rabbits. She loves her food and I have now retired her from outreaches. I used to bring her to a couple of outreaches where I would talk to kids about reptiles to inform them of them and such. Well with her being over 17 years old I figured it was getting to her so now she only gets to come out in the snake room(bed room). Plus when hot enough outside. She has not struck at me not even once but I figure the older she gets the grumpier she may be. I dont want to take a chance on that with kids around.

Thanks all I will try to get some current pics up.. She is in shed right now so I will wait when she is all hotness.

    Re: Burm Rescue Update

She is looking so much better, especially at that age,to come around that quickly.
We had a common boa in the lab that did animal demos till she was over 26 years old, we had to retire her the last couple years of her life because she was just not as up to it as she used to be and her lungs were starting to fail but the vet said any meds at her age would hurt her more than help her.

Oh man I hope nothing happens to her.. I know she won't live forever but she is so sweet.. Even if she gets grumpy and bites me.. it will suck but I cant blame her..
