Sand Dollar? Good or bad for a decoration?

I have a neat sand dollar from HI. I would like to put it in my ball pythons home. Mainly to keep it from getting broken and to add some color and decoration to her home.

Is this a good idea or bad? Its been bleached and has been sitting on a shelf for a year or two. Has been out of the ocean for longer then that.

Thank you for any help and opinions
