Re: Would a 9 year old virgin be able to breed?

I have heard that females will continue to breed for the duration of their adult life. I have also heard of some people who like to wait until their females are 5 years old before breeding them. From what I have heard, these females tend to produce larger clutches with more frequency.

However! This is just what I have heard in other threads similar to this one. That does NOT mean that I have any personal experience with the issue--but I wouldn't expect there to be any problem unless the female was just infertile, which would not have anything to do with age in this case. 9 is not exceptionally old for a ball python.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume, that if this girl was fed right, she's gonna lay a huge first clutch. Here's to 9 healthy eggs for you

I have a female that I will assume is 5+ years old and she laid 11 eggs her first breeding ever last year.
