    Overfeeding??

My new leopard geckos are PIGS, and will literally eat anything I put in there... last week I accidentally put in 20 small crickets (thought it was a bag of 10), and they ate every last one in a matter of minutes. I've also been giving them meal-worms about 2-3 times a week, and the crickets 1-2 times. Is this a good feeding schedule, and how many should they be getting per feeding? I just put in a second helping of meal-worms tonight, and they're gobbling away:

P.S. Is it okay that I'm using their calcium dish for the meal-worms? If not, where should I put them - and should they be dusted with calcium?

I give 10 mealworms per gecko every night. They don't always eat them all but I just put them back in the dish the next night. I also put my calcium powder in my food dish. There cage has enough stuff in it so I don't bother putting an extra dish.

    Re: Overfeeding??

I use the same dish for food and calcium as well... I usually throw in about 3-5 superworms plus about 8 crickets for my adults and theres usually one or two crickets/worms left the next morning.

My hatchlings though are absolute pigs; I gave the 3 of them 24 mealworms and 24 pinhead crickets and they ate almost all of them.

    Re: Overfeeding??

So do leos stop eating when they're full, or will they overeat and harm themselves?

I just got my first one today, and all she's done is lick a dusted cricket, but I figure she needs time to settle in, maybe.

They do stop when they are full. Babies/juvies eat a lot as they are still growing, I just let them eat 'til they stop.
