    Talking More genetics questions, lol!

Ok so now I'm getting more curious with genetics. So, for my breeding project I'm doing next year, I wanted to know these questions:

Normal x Normal= 100% Normals (breeding Monty and Candice together next year for a start)

Normal x Spider= 50% Normals & 50% Spiders (planning on getting a female Spider later this year, and I will be breeding her to Monty but I'm getting an '09 female so I will breed her in most likely 2-3 years)

Pastel x Normal= 50% Normals & 50% Pastels (if I have left over money, I was planning on getting a Pastel BP, most likely a male though)

Pastel x Spider= 25% Pastels, 25% Spiders, and 50% Bumblebees (if I do happen to breed a male Pastel to a female Spider if I do get the male Pastel later this year besides breeding Monty to the female Spider. Male Pastel will be an '09 as well). I'm confused on this one.

I believe I'm pretty wrong on that last one, or maybe even more of them, that's why I need someone to correct me lol. So, most likely, this is what I would breed:

Breeding project of 2010: Normal x Normal (Monty & Candice)

    Breeding project of 2011:

Normal x Spider (Monty & a female Spider)
Pastel x Normal (If I do get a Pastel male later this year, most likely will be breeding him to Candice for his first time)
Pastel x Spider (If I do get a Pastel male later this year, most likely will be breeding him to the female Spider & Candice)

Just trying to get everything straightened out and know what to expect in the outcomes of the offspring when I start to breed.

when you breed the pastel to the spider you will get....
    25%-spider
    25%-pastel
    25%-bumblebee
    25%-normal
    0.1 Normal BP

    How do you get normals?

Pastels and Spiders bred together don't produce normals, I don't think? I don't really see how they could produce normals because Pastels and Spiders are base morphs, if I'm not mistaken.

If you do a simple punnet square, it'll show that you get 1/4 normals, 1/4 pastels, 1/4 spiders, 1/4 bees.

I'm so horrible at Punnett squares lol. It still seems kind of confusing that you'd get normals if normals weren't even bred to the Pastel or Spider to get Bumblebees which is impossible. I kinda get it, but then again it still seems kind of confusing to me since I'm not used to the Pastel x Spider thing.

    Re: More genetics questions, lol!

all snakes carry 2 alleles. Pastels carry one allele for pastel and one allele for normal. (If it had 2 alleles for pastel it would be a super pastel)
Spiders carry one allele for spider and one allele for normal.

If each parent can only pass on one allele, then the possibilites would be:

Spider allele + Pastel Allele (Bumblebee)
Spider Allele + Normal Allele (Spider)
Normal Allele + Pastel Allele (Pastel)
Normal Allele + Normal Allele (Normal)

    Hope this helps,
    Kevin
