    Helix Help (tricky temps)

I just purchased a Helix DBS1000 Thermostat with grounded plug. I put the probe under the UTH and tank like I read in another post here. I have two thermometers with probes on the hot side, one against the glass and in the hide substrate level.

The thermometer on the glass reads 94.8 and the thermometer on the substrate inside the hide reads 88.2 I want to raise the temperature inside the hide to about 92-94, but keep the maximum heat (on the glass) around 95.

The problem I am coming to is this, with the above recorded temps the Helix is set at 103, there is only about an inch/inch and a half of substrate. Is the layer of glass making that much of a difference between what the Helix reads and the probe on the glass reads? If my glass probe reads 95 I should be safe right? But my Helix would probably show 105-110.

Alight just checking, better safe than sorry.. I read like 12 similar posts on here but nothing specialized on what I was inquiring about. I should find a happy medium, just don't want a fried snake! It is warm, but not hot to the touch like before, they should really sell a thermostat WITH the UTH.

    Thanks!
