Ugh...Need some advice from my peeps...
So, my roommates have been complaining about the smell of my rats upstairs. Despite my best efforts to cut down on the smell, I still have to respect the other people in the house's wishes. My snakes are all down in the basement,(3 floors down) and my rats are upstairs in my bedroom. I was told by the owner of the house that the rats MUST go downstairs in the basement. What do I do??!!! I mean, the rats will be next to my snakes...I have 2 racks of BPs and colubrids. Won't that drive the snakes crazy??? This is driving me crazy, because I didn't think the rats were that bad, as long as I was dliligent in the cleaning. And their two dogs can reall stink sometimes too!! Especially when the one pees all over the house...every day!!! So, what should I do??!! What would you do???

Re: Ugh...Need some advice from my peeps...
I don't have any rats in my house yet but I know of many people here that keep their rodents and snakes in the same room without a problem.

I've kept my rats and snakes in the same room for several years and have had no problems.

I keep ASF's and feed my colubrids and BP them. They are less than a foot to a few feet apart.

Re: Ugh...Need some advice from my peeps...
I'd imagine there'd be some initial issues, given then feeding responses are based on scent, however, once the snakes got used to the scent being constant, and having a set feeding schedule, I'd imagine it'd be fine.
I know that I can keep mice in my room for hours on end and elicit no feeding response while handling my mice-eaters.
